Mission Statement
The Mission of the Idyllwild Fire Protection District is to protect lives, property, and environment in the community through the provision of comprehensive integrated "ALL RISK", fire protection, emergency medical service, and other emergency services that result in social, economic, and environmental benefits for the people of Idyllwild.
IFPD has been serving the residents and visitors of Idyllwild with fire service since 1946 and paramedic service since 1979.

ISO Class 2!

IFPD MAINTAINS AN ISO CLASS 2 RATING
ISO stands for Insurance Service Office. This is a for profit organization that provides statistical information on risk. For the fire department, the ISO comes and does a Public Protection Classification. From this, the department is ranked on a 1 to 10 scale with 1 being the highest ranking.

NO OPEN FIRES
NO OPEN FIRES ALLOWED IN IDYLLWILD FIRE DISTRICT'S RESPONSE AREA
Outdoor wood fires are prohibited. (Rare exceptions are made for local camps with permits.) Propane fire pits may be allowed but require a permit & inspection. Only electric or propane BBQs are allowed. Permits are required and are available at the Idyllwild fire station for free. Permits are also available by clicking HERE. |

Donations
Your donation in ANY amount is appreciated by everyone at Idyllwild Fire. You may designate your donation to go toward our Public Education Fund, our Station Improvement Fund or the Memorial Fund. Any donations without a specific designation will be posted toward Public Education Fund.

IFPD Firefighter Memorial Fund
Funds will be sent on to the Wildland Firefighter Foundation to support the immediate financial and long-term needs of the families of fallen Wildland Firefighters. Click below for more details.
