Minimum Requirements:

The Idyllwild Fire Protection District Volunteer Firefighter Must:

•                  Be 18 years of age.

•                  Be a US citizen or documented worker.

•                  Have a Valid CA State Driver's license.

•                  Live within a 30 minute response time to the District boundaries.

•                  Be willing to attend Fire and EMS training drills two times monthly. (time commitment).

•                  Shall be required to pass the IFPD IPAT (Idyllwild fire physical abilities test) or equivalent.

•                  Pass a required background investigation.

•                  Be accepted for membership by vote of current membership and the IFPD Fire Chief.

•                  Complete State Fire Marshalls FF I certification within one year from start date: All training for this     requirement will be provided by the IFPD. Extensions and exemptions at the direction of the Fire Chief.
