Service provided by Idyllwild Fire Protection District includes Fire Protection, Advanced Life Support Medical Services, Basic Life Support Medical Services, Rescue, Public Assistance, Fire Prevention, and Public Safety Education.
Presently, the Department employs a Chief Fire Officer, 9 Career Firefighters, 3 Paid Call (Volunteer) Firefighters, 3 Reserve Paramedics, 12 Reserve EMTs, 2 Ambulance Attendants and a Mechanic. Volunteer Fire Company 621 joined us July 1, 2011 and currently has 14 Volunteers.
Idyllwild Fire Protection District is governed by a Board containing 5 elected Fire District Commissioners. The Board meets on the 2nd and 4th Tuesday of each month. Meetings begin at 6:00 p.m. and are held at the Idyllwild Fire Conference/Training Room.

Hazardous Waste day
Riverside County Waste Management Department will hold a household hazardous waste collection day on Saturday, May 19. From 9 a.m. until noon, Hill residents may bring household hazardous waste to the entrance of the County Yard on Marantha Drive. Deposits will be limited to five gallons of liquid waste or 50 pounds of solid waste for each load. However, multiple trips are permitted. Containers must be marked and secured to prevent leaks. Examples of acceptable items included used oil and filters, latex or oil based paints, pesticides aerosol cans, antifreeze, auto batteries, garden chemicals, televisions and computers and electronic waste. Unacceptable items include business waste, explosives or ammunition, medical or infectious waste (except Sharps), asbestos, appliances and 55-gallon drums.
